Welcome to Bremen Post 2791 , located on historic Oak Park Avenue in the heart of Olde Towne Tinley Park. Our Post was chartered in 1941 and has been an active part of the community for over 65 years. As our community has grown, so has our Post. Our membership currently exceeds 800 Veterans, along with over 160 members of the Ladies Auxiliary and over 40 members of our newly formed Men's Auxiliary.
Bremen Post 2791 has been recognized as an All-State Post for 21 consecutive years, and we have already completed all of the necessary requirements to extend our streak to 22 years. This year for the first time in our history we should achieve the status of All-American Post. We only need 7 more members to make the grade. We are currently the largest Post in the 16th district and the 5th largest Post in the state of Illinois.
Our Post home, which was originally the site of a gas station/automotive repair shop, was built in 1983. The old building was demolished and a new 5000 square foot structure was built with the expectation that it would be sufficient space for decades to come. However as we continued to grow we saw the need to expand, and in 1998 we added a 2500 square foot addition to the east end of our building. We expanded our popular banquet hall and added an all new canteen to service our members.
We currently host many functions at the Post, such as Monday night Bingo, Friday Fish Fry events, spaghetti dinners, fundraiser's and District functions. Please browse thru our site to find out more about these events and functions. You may find that some pages do not contain any information. We are in the process of improving our site on a daily basis so we can provide you with current and relevant information. Please be patient, it took us over 60 years to get this far.
Congratulations are in order for our newly elected Officers. Hank Kowalski will lead the Post again for 2008-2009. George Jensen is the newly elected President of the Mens Auxiliary and Audrey Zarembski will take over as the President of the Ladies Auxiliary. The new leaders and their elected and appointed Officers take over at the close of our Department Convention on Sunday June29, 2008.
